Step 2: Line the lips

 

Outline the lips using a soft lip pencil similar to the colour of the lipstick you are going to apply (make sure the pencil is sharp to ensure you get a crisp line).

Step 3: Add your first layer of colour

Apply the first layer of the lipstick of your choice – ensuring an even application. Using a soft tissue blot over the first layer of colour to remove majority of the product.

 

 

Step 4: Powder

Yes you read it right, powder! Use a fine translucent powder and a large fluffy brush to apply the powder over the lips. Do not apply the powder straight to the lips use a clean tissue as a barrier, this will allow the powder to get through without making the lips look powdery.

Step 5: Reapply

Reapply, blot and then reapply the lipstick one final time to get the best possible colour.

Step 6: Conceal

To finish your perfect lips use a small brush the concealer of your choice to clean the around outer edges of the lips to make them look clean and ensure that there are no smudges.

How to apply false eyelashes

 

Applying false eyelashes can be tricky but this post will give you a step-by-step guide and helpful hints and tips to help you apply both strip and individual false lashes.

 

Strip Lashes:

Firstly you need to decide which type of eyelash you want to wear, if you are a beginner a less intense and lighter lash will be more suitable. Also picking out a lash which has a thin band as they are more flexible and therefore easier to apply. The next important step is measuring the eyelash against your eye so you can cut it to the right size ensuring the best fit, trim from the outer corner to keep the lash looking natural.

When applying glue to the lash, majority of the eyelashes that you buy will supply the glue with the eyelash but if they do not there will also be glue available in the eyelash section. The glue is usually white when you apply it so you can see exactly how much you are applying at the time but don’t worry because once you apply the eyelash the glue dries clear. When applying the glue use an even application from inner to outer corner and then apply an extra blob to both the inner and outer corners as they are the most likely places that the eyelash will become unattached.

The biggest tip I can recommend is waiting for 30 seconds between applying the glue to the eyelash and applying it to your eye as this allows the glue to become tacky meaning it will stick to the skin much easier. If you try to apply the lash straight after glue application it will slide over the eyelid and the glue will go everywhere!

To actually apply the lash hold the lash in the centre with a pair of tweezers while you are allowing the glue to go tacky then place it right on top of your natural lash line then pull both the outer and inner corner into place to allow for perfect application.

 

 

 

Applying individual eyelashes can be intimidating but they can be done in the exact same way as a strip lash using the same glue and technique. Most individual eyelashes provide you with 3 different lengths in a pack so you can judge which lengths you would like to use depending on the length of your natural lashes. The longest lashes will be applied in the outer corner graduating to the shortest in the inner corner for the most natural looking lashes.

Applying individual lashes can actually be easier than a strip lash because you just need to apply glue to the stem of the lash and again wait for 30 seconds for it to become tacky then place onto of your natural lash line and allow to dry.
